Guh?

I hate it when I sleep too long. Not only do I lose time I could be doing more useful things, I always feel tired afterward. The only good part is I often have epic dreams, but that isn't so great when I forget them...

Terragen kept locking up, but I messed around with clouds recently. The smaller pics are things I didn't want to bother with at wallpaper resolutions because something was screwy.

I might just start having it render everything at 1280x960 (the largest the free version I have goes) so it can be cropped/resized better, but I dunno if anyone but me even uses these, and that's a lot more work for shinybob's processor. (I'm really starting to think it's the processor equivalent of masochistic. Why else would it still like me after all the things I've made it do?)

MULTI SENSOR IS SENSING

I am somewhat impressed shinybob remained stable when Painter Classic going NOM CPU pushed him to 82C. But seriously, wryyy you eat all brains, Painter? And wryyy you build computer with such processor and (lack of) cooling, Gateway?

But hey. I got my muse to draw something, despite both my reproductive system and my back killing me. Seriously - how did I pull a muscle just by sleeping curled up funny?

See, the Fox's multi-sensor was being discussed in MMM-land, and there it pretty much amounts to "unless you jam it, Fox can see you" for the sake of sanity and simplicity. Things got a bit flaily, [info]warador got a bit disgruntled and said this.

Yes, I am aware it has perspective issues and a GIANT SCARY SD HEAD. But it's one of two computery things I've drawn at all recently, the other being this. Failll, art muse D:.

OH SNAP-

ROCKS!

I found that mostly-done in my oC folder and decided it needed finishing already. The edges on the letters are Inkscape'd, because vectors are awesome that way. Don't ask me what I was thinking, because I don't remember.

Man, nature hates Milwaukee right now. I need to get pictures of the ice-snow mess outside...and we're better off than some chunks of Wisconsin.

And finally: there are some amusing notes in the descriptions and help sections of plugins/filters in GIMP 1.25. Examples?

No help yet. Just try it and you'll see!
For some images it may do just what you want; for others it may be total crap :).
Help? What help? Real men do not need help :-)
Makes your image look like it was snapped with a cheap camera with a lot of lens :). (in reference to a lens flare thing, of course)
Slice up the image into subimages, cutting along the image's Guides. Fooey to you and your broccoli, Pokey.
This function takes an image and blah blah. Hooray!
the help is not yet written for this plug-in since none is needed.
A big hello from the GIMP team! (Help for the two plugins with this blurb is "Hay-ulp" and "Beyond help." - they're actually eggs)

I'm in ur crappily drawn tree

staring at ur ligars

Those are...pretty pathetic trees, and you can tell my brain rebelled halfway through and was all "NO. NO MORE LEAVES". Methinks I must practice/be less lazy.

I used to draw these things when I was a kid. The long legs were because it lived in swamps, and the colors? I think the first time around they were mainly because my orange marker still had a lot of orange left :p.

(I also cannot remember if I posted this.)

Whooooo, queasy.

...IT'S CAPTAIN PLANET!! (edit) Speaking of Captain Planet...what the hell? I do believe that's the New Adventures, which were weirder, but WHAT XD.

I CAN'T SLEEP.

I got all hyped up on caffeine fighting and judging battles in RP-land, and that combined with tail end of hormones...yeah, stuck awake. Smart. I'm on an insomnia high thing now, leaving my brain all over the place and wanting to do mad things like character analysis for the horribly obscure. And...um...things like this (beware odd joke character ideas).

This would be cool, because it usually leads to interesting things to read/look at later if I fling muses at Rough Draft or a graphics program. But I have places to be in six-something hours and that'll probably be when I crash. I'll just have to ride on more caffeine and hope that works (yes, yes, I know, bad) - or else force an hour or two of nap.

On an art note: I think I'm getting closer to not being Really Bad at drawing animal legs. I've found a better way to lay out paws and hindlegs, now to see if it gels and refines enough to tip over the edge from "fail" to "it seems so simple now". Examples will have to wait, as I've mostly been drawing on paper with pencil :p.

Quick! We need a mascot!

a) ZE is back proper
b) MOOOOOOLGA

What is it about Molga that's so incredibly fun to say?

Photoshop go!

Elements is still a RAM-devouring [expletive deleted]. What the hell was it doing with 320 megs of the stuff and 350 megs of my page file for a small picture? Also, is there some reason my eraser is erasing to white and not transparent?

At least the pressure sensitivity no longer dies in fits of Flail - and it and Firefox get along enough I can find reference pictures without lag from hell.

Have a test pic, which proves I have forgotten how the brushes work and need to draw more :D.

...yes, that is Hiou and a can of Red Bull. Blame Alteka and [info]mystickskye.

I also found this and this in the sketches folder, unuploaded. Huh.

Mostly :D, some D:

Bonnie's copy of oC effed itself up, and while I found the presets (thank you, Process Monitor), deleting them hasn't fixed it. And...well, it's pretty hard to find help for 1.1 and there is no "just reinstall" D:. So we messed around with DrawPile, which doesn't have layers or undo, but hey:

http://www.creativeinsanity.net/art/drawpile/droppingspiderz.jpg (1.3 MB, dialup users beware! And yes, I know I spelled DESTROYER wrong)
http://www.creativeinsanity.net/art/drawpile/bitey.jpg (581kb, see just the Gorhecks)

Any other suggestions for networky drawing are welcome!

Liger Red Hiou = :D :D :D. IT'S CLEAR PINK :D.

And I have new Gundam Markers, which means time to test on the HMM!Wolf's plastic, and if they work well? I WILL FINALLY GET TO BUILD IT :D.

meme ATTACK

Oh, come on, these are fun. And WTF.

Another "pick blah characters" thing...but YOU ask the questions :D )

You can ask pairing questions so long as it's nothing that nasty. Characters will be Zoids, Who, and Trek, knowing me. And yes, I will answer the example.

Also: HaTcH added tags to the LU art thingy, so I did things to my gallery there. Now I just need to draw more. Like that Helcat.

AND NOW, ART

What happens when you typo Blade Snap with the regularity I do?

BLADE SNAPE, THAT'S WHAT.

480 pixels and 480% are very different measurements

"Now look here, PAL!"
"What, mister NTSC?"
"No, I mean...wait, WHAT?"
"WHAT? That's not a standard, do you mean SECAM?"
"...stop doing that!"

Brain's been wanting to work out wild Gilvaders (why? because it can), so have a sketch that got a bit more attention than it should have, plus its event file (use file, import event file to view). [info]koobine was curious how I shade stuff...and I rarely draw something all in one go, so I figured it was a good chance to share one.

I also lost a day to sleep and Discworld. Stupid addictive books.

Zoid note: Power Mantis' colors look a lot better in person and I love the pinthings used in construction...but I actually like the Mammoth better design-wise.

Also, that meme. you know, that one. )

agh. my. brain.

I've been awake for a bajillion hours after wandering around the mall, leading into a hella long AIM battle of death with caffeine wearing off. But such fun. Even with a loss. I like Kingbarons.

Spacebirdy. WHY can I only get weird things like that out of Painter and ArtRage when I'm really freaking tired? Either way, that's what kept me awake. Wish I'd drawn it bigger so I could resize it to be less rough, but such is my RAM. I may mess with it further later.

Later. Sleep. Yes.

Trade with me?

First batch of cards! Claim away, don't worry about trading if I haven't yet drawn you something for holiday-ness. Trading is nice anyway, though.

Artspam in 3.5 by 2.5 inch form )

More as I draw them!

BANDWAGON

Yeah, I'm doing the art trading card thing too. I have four done and will make more and photo the lot tomorrow or thereabouts. It's Happy Hormone Evil Fun time and that always means not being able to sleep, so...I might as well do something.

If you want to trade or are one of the people from the holidays who I didn't get gift art to yet, gimme a spork and I will save something once they go up. No requests of specific subjects, but I will of course take ones for specific cards o_o.

Speaking of art, though...some pics of sketches, mostly dodgy because light pencil + not enough light + my camera = bad photos.

AAH WTF doggy, random thing drawn on crappy lined paper that I liked enough to keep.
Bitey likes you.
Squishy Deadborder
Thing drawn in a moving car...in all of a couple minutes, while my sister was drawing weird opera people and I felt compelled to draw something silly in revenge. Fear my incredibly crap stick figures.
A birdy orgnaoid (along with a closeup and earlier sketches). Needs refining, otherwise I like the idea.
YOU EATED MY SALAMANDER. Will hopefully be colored.

Mach wants minor redesigning. Thus, you also get my flailing to do so, at varying quality levels. As scatterd as those are, I think he's starting to get more consistant. At last.

My shoulders hate how I sit to type. I must figure out better ways, so they do not hurt.

I need to make a Bitey icon.

flail

I tried to practice drawing proper Zoids and then my hand died. Thus, I sketched a bunch of useless crap instead, like this and this (I am now reminded why I haven't tried to draw blood since I went through a phase of doing so as a Watership Down-corrupted child...) There is also what I drew attempting to find the cause of GIMP/oC crash issues. Yes, it says "hey, gaim, please fuck up", I was very annoyed :p.

Also discovered was an oldold holiday doodle involving why Zoids characters + Christmas family reunion = bad ("Guylos is kidnapping the candy canes, mom"), and I quickly traced over kid Wolff and a spork, because it demanded it. (don't ask me how Prozen's holding onto that sweater. IT'S MAGIC VELCRO.)

My writing muse is stuck on fragments mode. To add insult to injury, it gets distracted halfway through said fragments and leaves me with scattered pieces of story that go nowhere.

Well, it's also spat out these things... )

what is brain?

Drawn while really out of it: doggy, color-changing doggy. Glowsticks don't do that that I know, so maybe it's half glowstick and half LED wand thing. Hey, [info]plink_chan, should I make it my avatar despite the dizzy rainbow effect :D?

Also have a Doctor Who fic I found while staggering around the internet feeling rather sick. 'tis a work in progress (and thus has a cliffhanger) with spoilers all over the place for the first season ending, but it rather cheered me up to find someone writing those characters.

I had weird dreams... )

I have power zoids to build. I'm not sure whether to save them or build both at once, 'cause they look quite different and interesting for non-motorized things. Say what you will about colors or being ugly, I like my static things to do something besides pose if they aren't Saberlion, and these look like they'll deliver. I may have to paint the Mammoth shiny colors someday, 'cause Maethius already did a good Mantis repaint...

A final impatient note? I want the animated Star Trek box set my mom ordered to appear...domestic shipments should not take as long as international! I'm normally patient, but...Star Trek! That I haven't seen in years! Want now! So I can stop talking! Like Kirk!

Gorhecks.

Gorhecks in a box?

Boxhecks!

You can find the rest of the holiday-art-that-wasn't in that directory. Gifts for specific people are stalled while I flail at openCanvas. Curse you, eraser!

THIS IS NOT APPROPRIATE HOLIDAY MUSIC.

It's almost Christmas, do you know where your children are my brain is?

I need to get for-everyone giftart-type things done and uploaded. Soon. Comment if you want something random (oops) drawn specifically for you sometime between now and new year's?

I may also draw random things for people even if they don't say something, because I can. But if you say something I can use it like a to-do list, which seems to be the best way to get me moving these days. Don't feel guilty asking, either.

I use too many hyphens and sentence fragments.

like letters, except shorter

[info]warador: STORCH.

[info]rantinan: Not Zoidy bits, plus the one-armed Battle Rover, which was evil to get together sans instructions. You can't see it, but it's missing one of the little black pieces that goes in the hips, so only one leg works right. On the plus side, I don't think it'd be too hard to make something to take its place, and the motor seems to function.

[info]kimbo_demonica: go here. I wanted to make something else neat because I didn't get around to a card last year, and I was curious if Premo/Super Sculpey hybrid would hold out making antlers of that size...which it did. Now I need to paint it, 'cause the eyes/nose are pretty invisible as-is >_>. It's near 1/72, hence the comparison with Irvine, who's around 6 feet tall...or so that figure claims.

Other people I missed with cards: Gimme a subject (see below for what I can best attempt) and I'll try to make something before I run out of clay!

...anyone want to buy me a brick of Premo in trade for a mini in the size range of the one above or a bit bigger? I'm still experimenting (practice is good), but I can attempt canines, some felines, and some dragons. Wings should be okay if you don't want them folded, and organic mecha (like 1/72 organoids) might be a go too.

My innards: Whatever is wrong with you, will you STOP with the cramps and general ouch of unknown origin? It's really not cool.

Zoids thoughts to nowhere: Wind Dancers are disappointingly simplistic (three pieces total each, hollow bits abound) and the (brownish dull) gold plastic is of the same annoying semi-soft variety as Brastle's amazing escapist guns. Still, as I suspected and Rantinan tested, they look rather nice on Kingliger if you ignore the color clash. Since I'll never get it a gradeup unit (and the Winglider is kinda funky-looking anyway), I'm happy.

I might also panel line mostly-OJR Battle Cougar when I go to paint it a new tail if its red is the sort that likes Gundam Markers or Sharpies. The wings beg for it and I need things to do with my hands that don't involve buying new art/model supplies.

And now for some bonus crosspostage!

Spoof is done :D. No idea how coherent or how good it is, but it is done. Feedback is welcome, as after the contest I'll happily revise it for added evil.

The brave can read it here in all its tackily-colored HTML glory (teal and blood red? I don't know either!), those who just want the silly three-Genesis-Ligers fusion that I went nuts scribbling can find it here, or in lineart form. The back leg is mutant, but for a quick work drawn over a very rough sketch I rather like it.

I should get some proper sleep now, then get to work on more serious sort of things.

But first? Nachos.
