The remote is ALWAYS in the couch cushions.
(15:08:42) Steve: I'm not sure if I want to write [a Kreaturez battle story] in a "Legend/history book" format, or in a "journal from the perspective of various soldiers" format...

...led into "Letters From a Salamander F2 Pilot."

"There was this Gilvader thing. It was pointy and shiny and it shot my Salamander. I got really bored waiting for someone to rescue me. Does anybody have any chips? I'm hungry. I don't think I like the color pink any more. Then again, I never liked pink to begin with. Why am I writing this? That's right...because I'M REALLY BORED AND ABUSING THE SHIFT KEY EXCEPT I DON'T HAVE A SHIFT KEY THIS IS A PEN

(large splotch on page)

Never mind, it's a pencil. MY BLOODY PEN BROK-

(spot that looks like a pencil lead snapping)

Oh, and Marget, if you ever get this letter... I have no idea where I put the TV remote before I was drafted. Stop asking me. It's probably hiding in the sofa somewhere. And yes, I am writing this in lipstick now. It's not what you think.

Someone is finally here to rescue me. Wish I could warn them about the Gilvy about to eat them. Never mind, too late. At least those explosions are pretty. Maybe when they send medics for this they'll find me too. They shouldn't have tried to squeeze those Madthunders into that narrow valley. Now they've got no room to use those pointy horns. That Störmer guy is a jerk. I don't like him.

(scribbled on log, crossed out) I don't like you either. Your penmanship is bloody awful.

Well, now I'm a prisoner of Guylos and all that. At least I'm less bored. And hey, maybe this will be historical!"

(15:18:04) Steve: *Margret opens envelope, reads letter, is horribly confused* "...Riiiight... the sofa! Why didn't I think of that?"

Very amusing. I approve wholehartedly. Is this Lt Bird or some random dude?

Which reminds me that I should work on that psuedo-fic that fills in the gaps between Shelflands and Shelf II.

Naw. Too lazy.

I'm not sure. It might be funny if it *were* Bird, though.
